I got to hang out with these two ladies just before someone's 6th birthday. It was, of course, delightful. I really enjoy the years where a person is not too cool for silliness. And of course I love seeing how much she loves her Mom.
a place to share adventures in textiles, photographs, cookery, and whatever else strikes my creative fancy

3 months out
Time has zipped by and though this blog has been silent, my shutter hasn't, over the next week or two I will share some snippets of all of the delightful people I have been able to spend time with and photograph (in no particular order). Tonight I will introduce you to this little guy, Joshua. I got to hang out with him to celebrate 3 months on the outside. Even though the day ended with me standing in an ant hill (thankfully Joshua was un-nibbled on) it was such a treat to get to document this special time.

This is what I am playing around with now ....
I had a fabulous time (in spite of occasional stress because I was in such an unfamiliar place) with Laura and Andrew's wedding in NoLa and I have finally gotten to the fun part of the editing too. Woot!

Laura & Andrew - Engagement
I couldn't tell you how we met, but for large chunks of high school Laura and I were basically inseperable, so much so that she has been adopted into my crazy family. After high school she stayed part of the family but we have about 800 miles between us most of the time so you can imagine how excited I was to be able to spend some time with my dear friend and her fiance.
He seems to bring out the best in her, and he certainly brings out the smiles. I can't wait for their wedding this March!

1 year
One of my favorite things about being a photographer is getting to peek into the special moments in other people's life ... like this little lady turning one. What a sweet girl and a fun family - if I am not a bum, I will let you see more soon (if I am a bum I will give the images to her family and get distracted with some of the editing backlog I have neglected and I sense the interwebs will survive '-P)

love smush
I have a confession. Although I love love love taking photos, and I enjoy editing them, but I hate winnowing through all of the images I shoot to select the good enough ones (I tend to overshoot). It has taken what feels like centuries to get the images from the Bremner-Hay wedding down to a manageable pile, but now that I am getting to play around a little while watching a little bit of Star Trek in the back ground things are fun. Those housework is suffering but it is fun.
I have hopes to post a nice overview; but for now it will just be dribbles. Hope you enjoy them.

Camp Loy White turned 50
A couple weeks ago (ok closer to a month) the camp my father is the director of celebrated its 50th anniversary and he invited me to come docutment the day long affair - I think mostly so he could know how it went, since he still had to run around and didn't get to just chill and enjoy it.
Ed Kilborn gave the morning message after getting everyone to sing and sign together.
People eat together, then played together; generally enjoying the grounds.
Anyone who had a connection to the camp, like former directors, and the boy scouts were in attendance.
Then the day wound down as a local pastor led communion.
Here's to the next 50 years!

Jess:Hottt Mom :-)
Meet Jessica! She is such a fun, passionate, tenacious person. When we first met I wasn't always sure how to respond to her, but I have come to realize that she is such a generous and delightful person, who just happens to be unafraid to speak her mind.
It was such a delight to hang out with her to take these photos. Here is hoping they are as much of a delight to see.
